The new real estate marketplace of today is a buyers market featuring many listings of properties for sale.  In an effort to find a buyer, sellers of these properties display ever decreasing prices.  It is important for buyers to understand that the asking price (the list price) is not necessarily the price for which the property will eventually sell.
 

 
If you find a property that you are interested in buying, you should decide the value that property is to you and make an offer of that amount on the property.  Some sellers are willing to sell at almost any price.  For various reasons other sellers will price their property close to the price they will take.  Almost all sellers have left some room to negotiate.
